Mission

To promote and encourage beneficial co-existence between man and the environment in such a way; that all Tribal members, present and future generations included; will enjoy the same rights to clean air, pure water, and healthy vegetation.

Kiowa Tribe Environmental Program (KTEP) is dedicated to protecting the environment and natural resources such as land, water and air from adverse environmental impacts from pollution, climate change, habitat loss and other issues which may affect the health of our environment and our Kiowa people. We are funded under federal grants from the U.S E.P.A. The objectives of this program are to develop the capacity to administer and maintain a viable environmental office. Obtain the ability to manage specific programs, develop and write environmental documents. Raise environmental awareness to our tribal members through community outreach, education project and tribal member involvement through public meeting and events such as a community trash clean up.
