Kiowa Victims Assistance Program

The Kiowa Tribe VAP aims to respond to the emotional and physical needs of crime victims in order to stabilize their lives after victimization, as well as, aid in the healing process, provide victims with a measure of safety and security, and empower them for future success. 


WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR SERVICES

VAP is open to ALL primary and secondary victims of a crime that was committed within the last 6 months who reside in Kiowa, Comanche, Caddo, and Grady County. 

  • You do not have to be tribally enrolled or affiliated to receive services
  • ANY resident of our 4-county services area may receive assistance
  • All Kiowa Tribal members are eligible for services regardless of county  residence
  • Under  certain circumstances (those involving children) the 6-month time  regulation may be adjusted. 


Services area includes: Caddo, Kiowa, Comanche, and Grady counties.

VAP Provides the following services:

  • Utility Assistance
  • Rental Assistance
  • Clothing Assistance
  • Basic Necessities
  • Nutritional Assistance
  • Temporary Shelter
  • Transitional Housing (clients who are transitioning from a shelter)
  • Transportation related to incident (court, legal meetings, doctor, therapy, shelter, etc.)
  • Court/Medical Accompaniment
  • Counseling & Support Group
  • Referrals to other programs and services
  • Assistance with filing for Oklahoma Crime Victims Compensation 

What documents do I need?
When applying for services, please provide the following:


Copy of the police report/statement

Most recent bill if you are applying for utility assistance.


Potential rent/lease agreement and documentation of deposit costs if you are applying for transitional housing

If you are a guardian applying for services on behalf of a minor, guardianship affidavit.
